Shri Kala Ram Mandir: 

This temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Sri Ram. This temple is one of the most important tourist destinations in Nashik. Temple was built in 1790 by Sardar Odhekar by Peshwa. 

Inside the temple, there are three statues of Lord Rama, Lord Lakshmana, and Maa Sita respectively. All are made with Black stone and that the reason the temple is called Kala Ram means black Ram. 

Nashik is situated at the bank of the river Godavari & There are so many important places related to Lord Rama which is very near to the temple. Panchwati and Sita Gufa is one among them. 

As per Ramayana below are some of the events that happened in past in Nashik which is below

  1. Lord Rama stayed there for years with Lord Lakshmana and Maa Sita.
  2. Lord Lakshman cut the nose of Surpnakha (Ravana Sister). The place is marked there.
  3. Lord Rama killed thousands of demon-like  Khar, Dushan, and Trishira. 
  4. Ravana kidnapped Maa Sita from Panchvati
This is a must-visit place for spiritual tourism.

Best time to visit: All time. During the summer, it's very hot.

 

Entry Fees:  No entry fee. You have to pay only if you want to perform special rituals.

Parking Places: Near the temple, it's very difficult to find a Parking place as rodes are narrow and crowded places. You have to park your vehicle around 500m away. Better to use autos rickshaw.

By Air: The nearest Airport is Chatrapathi Shivaji Internation airport in Mumbai which is 166 km from Nashik. This is one of the busiest airports in India where multiple flights operate from other Indian cities and a foreign country.


By Rail: The main railway station is in Nashik on Nashik Pune road which is 9 km from the Temple. It is well connected with other Indian cities. You can catch buses, Autos, or private taxis to reach the temple.

Buses: The nearest main bus stand is in Nashik. You can find multiple buses from different places like Mumbai, Pune, Shirdi, etc. 

Private Taxis/ Autos: You will find lots of Autos and Taxis in Nashik. Better to hire it for a day and they will take you a nearby ride covering all the important tourist destinations.
