Lepakshi Veerabhadra Swamy Temple :

This is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra (A fierce emanation of Lord Shiva). This temple is situated in a village called Lepakshi in Anantpur District in Andhra Pradesh. It is an ancient temple that was constructed in the 16th century. The importance of this place can be understood from its mention in Ramayan, Mahabharat, and Purans. 

Temple architecture is of Vijaynagara style and it was one of the most important temples during that period. It is nicely built by cutting the stone. All the statues are crafted using huge stones. 

The main attraction in the temple is a hanging pillar which is tons of kilogram of weight. Also, the structure of the temple is residing on this pillar. 

Another attraction is a huge Bull statue (Nandi Statue) made of a single stone that is facing the temple which is around 600m away from the temple.

It is one of the very important tourist destinations in Andhra Pradesh which is close to Bangalore and an Ideal place for day-long travel.

Airport: The nearest airport is Bangalore which is around 100 km from the Lepakshi temple. Bangalore airport is very well connected with major Indian and International places. You can hire taxis from here to reach the temple.

As this temple is situated in a village, very few restaurants are available but they are not clean. Better to carry their own food. You can find good restaurants in Hindupur which are around 13 km from the temple or on Bangalore Hyderabad Highway which is 12 km from the temple.
